The engineer came today for an annual check on the gas boiler and said that it needed a new heat exchanger costing £400. The boiler is about 7 years old.
I am glad I paid £48 per year for insurance.
The dishwasher and washing machine are also insured for a reasonable sum and this gives me peace of mind.
I never take out extra insurance for the fridge/freezer, gas fire, electric oven, microwave or TV and am glad to say that I have never had any problems with these.
