at the very bottom of her stomach, just above the groin area. It's not sore and it's about 1/2" wide. She said she's had it for a few weeks. Should I get her checked out? She's 14. I don't think it's anything to worry about and if it was me I'd just ignore it unless it got worse, but as it's her I can be a bit neurotic!

Not neurotic at all Meg, just a concerned mum. Would get it checked out, put both your minds at rest rather than worrying about it.
Is it in the mid-line or above the right or left groin?

Is it firm or "squizzy?"

Can you move the skin over it or is it attached to the skin?
Would get it checked out for peace of mind. Could be a cyst or fatty lump . Best not ignore things like that.

It's just left above the groin, 1/2" or so above the pubic line - so I don't think it's a 'hair under the skin' type of lump. It's just hard, not squishy and it feels like it's attached.
Sounds very much like an implantation dermoid.......totally innocent and no big deal.

The right answer is to get it seen by your GP.

If she were my daughter I would wait and watch.

Your call!

Thanks. As she's experiencing no discomfort I'll give a couple of weeks, if there's no change I'll get her checked out or if indeed there is.
I would def. get it checked.. its better to be safe than sorry.. Its probably nothing but I wouldn't chance it!
Good morning Meg
It may be best to take your daughter to see a Dr, your concern for her wellbeing is natural. I would suggest that it is impossible & would be irresponsible of anyone to offer a diagnosis in this kind of forum. I would go further and suggest that those offering a diagnosi even a provisional one should know better.
