My partner watched me sitting knitting yesterday, then asked who invented knitting - I was stumped - which of our ancestor put needles to wool I wonder?

good question... some neanderthal carved the first needles out of a piece of rock, and thought "What will I do with these? I know! I'll cut off a sheep's hair and..."
