I have been given a partridge......one partridge with no skin on it

Frozen stiff it is, what can I do with it? For a start how long does a partridge take to cook, and what is the best way, wrap it in foil or casserole it? It's not very big so it won't take long to do and I suppose there won't be much of it. Has anyone any suggestions for a meal.

Not done one without skin, but normally roast for 40 mins, serve with game chips and petit pois. Think you should maybe wrap it in buttered foil to roast it. Poor thing. :)
Ahh of course, they were to idle to pluck it, hence ripping off the skin and feathers all in one.

Thanks anna that sounds OK, it's only a poor little skinless thing, enough for Mr Ask really, I'll have to pad it out with something for the two of us.

Humber I'll look at Hugh FW before I start, the bird is defrosting as we speak, thanks for that. Tbh I feel like giving it the last rites and burying it.

Partridge are good as long as they are not overcooked, cover the breast with fatty bacon and baste frequently, roast lightly for a 25-30 mins until the juices just run clear.

anna not sure what sex the poor thing was, stripped of all dignity now. I was given the bird as it was, I don't know if there will be another. Occasionally we get a frozen rabbit from this source (a friend of a friend who doesn't like game). I'll get some streaky bacon tomorrow to lag it's skin.
Look out for shot though, can seriously hurt your teeth!

Hope the rabbits have skin.
Rabbits are good casseroled in cider with apple.
Good point, check bruised areas for shot, as Barmaid says.
