hi. the rate of CB is different for first child and subsequent children. Is this only if you are claiming together? If you have finished claiming for first child and then make a claim for second child (for example if 1st child has turned 16) which rate do you get?

I'm pretty sure you'll get the higher payment for the new child. When our oldest stopped getting child benefit the younger one was moved up to the higher rate
