Is there a quick way to record a track from YouTube please ? Is it legal? Can I record to my PC then onto a CD. We are doing a singsong today with some local elderly folks and wanted one song particularly for them to sing along to.....

yes, use this

http://www.video2mp3.net/

or other similar converters
If you just want the sound then there is a program called Freecorder which will save it as an MP3 file.

And if you've have just watched a video and then decide you want to download it VideoCacheView http://www.nirsoft.ne...video_cache_view.html will let you copy it to a folder directly from your browser's cache (so no extra download required because you've already done that when watching it online).
as for legality, YouTube do try to remove clips that are in breach of copyright; if they haven't done so you're probably okay to assume it's legal.
try inserting the word "kick" before Youtube in the url

Freecorder is great too, thanks scotman!

Thanks to all ABer friends for this info - you are all so helpful! I tried one or two methods but the link Moonie sent me seemed the easiest, I'm well chuffed as I've not been able to do this before, now I can choose all my old 50s and 60s favourites to put on CD....... :)) xx
