The past 2 weeks I have been getting flashbacks from my childhood 6/7 yr old, schooldays, teens and the rest of my adult life etc.

They can come at anytime of the day or night, some of the good things I did and some of the bad things.

Its been really strange to recall the teachers and pupils at my infant and junior school and to remember what we got up to.

I have a lot more flashbacks to tell but, seeing its late I will carry on tomorrow.

That's if you're still here tomorrow :-).
Mike!! :p

I'm guessing something has jogged a memory which has set the ball rolling.
Not death, Alzheimers maybe
are the mushrooms out already?
I wouldn't want to revisit my childhood!

Thanks for the nice helpful reply's!!!!
the past couple of weeks events (England) may have had you thinking about the past in your own life (thus flashbacks) to your own youth.
That would be Lore. Seriously if you've got something on your mind or you
are worried about your health, there are genuine people on here who will
listen and offer friendly advice. Have youself a milky drink and try and get some sleep. Please try not to worry, things always seem worse at night.
Hope you feel refreshed tomorrow. Regards Cupid04.xx
trt, I thought I was being helpful... I know when something sparks a memory, it has a knock on effect and all kinds of things pop up from the past.
Flashbacks are not nice if they involve bad times in your life, I am going through them at the moment in light of a loss in my life. They are simply bookmarks in your memory and no indication of bad things to happen to you, just try to work through them as best you can. Sometimes you can make peace with them and other times you have to let them go. All perfectly normal. xxx
:( *hugs* Mamya x
Thank you Lore, just trying to explain that they are usual and not the opposite. I will get through mine because I have to.

Here is just a few of the flashbacks I get.

1, coming home from school when I was about 11 and my Mum & dad at work, had the door key on string around my neck and when I entered the lounge we had been burgled and the gas and electric pay meters were on the floor empty.

2, having to listen to my father when I was in bed, shouting/nagging my mother every night when he came home from the pub after to much drink.
He thought she was having an affair with the chef at the large insurance company where she worked day and some times nights when they had functions at night to make ends meet, because my father spent his wages in the pub every night.

She was a lovely honest mother, and I grew up later to hate my father for all the bad things he did to her.
Is there an anniversary/special date coming up, trt? It's not nice to go over the dark times but I suppose, by remembering them, it shapes us and helps us to become better people.
Hi trt

Are you taking any medication at the moment? By the way this isnt a p*** take question.
Hello trt, hope you are feeling better today. Sometimes in our lives it seems
that the bad memories outweigh the good ones. Try and focus on the good
ones if you can.Easier said than done I know. I can often be watching a film
and something relating to my childhood sparks off a sad memory, so I think
I know a little of what you are going through. Our childhood seems to shape
what we become as adults. Anyway I'm not very good with words but I
genuinely hope you find the peace of mind you are searching for. Regards

trt here is my solution, I am not taking the mickey at all, if there is a Spiritualist church near you go and talk to them about it, they wont ask for money or hold hands round the table etc, but they might be able to give you an explanation as they deal with similar all the time and the will take you seriously, I am sorry for some of the glib answers given it must be quite worrying for you and obviouly something has triggered it off.I dont think it means you are going to die, its something in your subconcious, are you frightened to sleep ? if you do go pls let me know how you got on.

Probably a sign of old age. In my day .....
Flashbacks? What's the difference between a flashback and a reoccurring vivid memory trt? As crazygirly said this could've been brought on by medication or maybe a change of diet or a recent trauma? I've recently been taking a few different Neurotransmitters which have strengthened my memory and I believe repaired damage and is now easing "mental congestion" which I've noticed by memory improvement/vivid memories and dreams , a feeling of "one" between mind and body.
