So you look through your partners phone (naughty naughty) and find a text saying "It's ok. I took her for a long walk earlier, let me know when you're next going xx".
This is from a person whom you partner had a BIG crush on for years, eventually slept together, and then stopped talking.
Out of the blue, after your relationship had started they get back in touch and have very cheeky, flirty texts back and forth for some time. You found out and said it had to stop, and as far as you were aware it had. 2years later it seems they have met up at least once walking the dogs together in the woods quite far from both their homes.
What would you do?

Well, he's either going to brazen it out and send a text whilst she's putting her shoes/coat on and claim that he's remembered that he needed to tell 'Jeff' something.......or he's going to suddenly need to go for a pee (and take his 'phone with him); either of which ought to be sufficient confirmation that he's up to no good.

I would hope to remain calm and, fixing him with my steely-eye, confront him......"I know what you've been doing, who with and where and you've just handed me the final piece....." and take it from there.

However, it is more likely that I would try to insert his 'phone into somewhere he'd have trouble getting a signal...........:o/
do you really need step by step instructions?

if he texts, ask him who he is texting, then when he lies, let him prove it.

Maybe it's just me but I tend not to suspect my partner, never had a need to. And were I with someone who prefers someone else then I believe my attitude would always be that they can go. I don't own anyone. I liked folk's suggestions here though.
Do what ankou says- say you'll join him (but make sure you hide his phone first)

I agree OldG
I believe you should trust your instincts though. And she had a feeling.
also I don't know if it's just me but it might not be that he's up to no good.
next time you get access to his phone - slightly change her number (one digit), and then buy a new sim card and send a text to him from that saying "changed my number, this is my new one. tied up for a few days - want to meet tonight at ......" and see if he makes an excuse to go out then....
