I was playing golf in Yorkshire last week and after the game I asked at the bar for a sandwich. The girl said "Certainly. What would you like? Ham, Cheese, Beef, Tuna or Dripping?" Only in Yorkshire eh? I had the Ham. Yummy.

When I went on loan to an office in Bradford a few years ago you could buy dripping on toast from the tea trolley.........
It is called 'mucky fat' round our way lol
My dad used to love beef dripping
Oh yes Housemouse, still plenty bikers gather there.
what about your arteries?????
Yes, definitely the dripping. Two sandwiches please.
>>>what about your arteries????? <<<< gets them furred up and keeps them warm!!
Bread and dripping or mucky fat with salt on was invented before arteries became fashionable. It was yummy, I still sneak one slice when we've had roast beef for dinner.
Over 20 years ago my wife and I ran a pub, when our darts team played at home they always wanted beef dripping sandwiches and black pudding, yummy.
wow beef dripping toast & tea in a glass, that takes me back '' Jelf's'' Coffee Houses.
Ron.
totally agree with jd here....... dripping on toast is lovely ...dripping on bread... bleurggghhhhh
Stokie - the arteries were kept scoured out by the fact that adults did heavy manual work, most people didn't own car, kids walked, ran or cycled everywhere and the telly didn't come on until ten past five of an evening, so no lounging around feeding your face all day.
I recall a friend rom a farm in Shropshire describing their treat for guests - cup of tea and a nice piece of pork fat on the saucer.
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
