does anyone know the rules for a digital tacho. I work for a company with multiple vehicles, all the vehicles tachos show the same time except 1 which is showing 10 minutes fast. We sometimes change vehicles during the day, if this is your second vehicle there is no problem as the time you put your digicard in just shows you started 10 minutes later, the problem is if its your first vehicle then you have to change, you have your legal 45 min break but when you put your card in because the previous vehicle was 10mins fast it only registers you have had 35min rest. I have asked my foreman who says it is legal but i and a few other drivers dont think this is the case, before i take it futher and check with vosa etc i just thought one or two of you may know the legal ruling on this.

I would confirm with their Transport Foreman or Transport office that the said Taco time is out on the vehicle & that confirmation be put in writing before you insert your card Eddie.
Or get them to alter the time, make sure you get them to do it.

I would VOR the vehicle, as having a faulty tacho.

That would force the company to get it sorted.
If the clock is out by 10 mins Hopkirk, I do not think your answer would stand. It would have to be altered by either the Trans Man, The garage Forman,
Digital tachos can only be altered by a VOSA approved tachograph calibration centre. Recalibration for incorrect time is only necessary if UTC is out by more than 20 minutes.
