Not being at all familiar with theatre land, can any of you recommend a show suitable for my 7 year old grand-daughter please. I know I can google and probably will, but I was hoping somebody had first hand knowledge. Thanks in advance.

There's no hesitation from me - go to The Railway Children at Waterloo Station. Its a great show and in a wonderful setting.

We went as a family - ages ranged from 7 to 75 and everyone one of us thoroughly enjoyed it.
Lion King, fabulous.

Fantastic - I LOVE that story too. I always cry buckets in the film at the end when she shouts Daddy, my Daddy as the steam clears and he walks into view. ooh goosebumps!!!

It's hard to beat The Lion King ... it's jaw droppingly awesome.
Gary Warren - wasn't he also the kid in Catweazle Dotty? Sweet face.

The show at Waterloo Station was devised by York Theatre Royal and played at their Railway Museum. It transfered to London a year or so ago and is such a perfect fit for the disused tracks there. Very nostalgic for those of us who remember it first time round and a great show for kids too.
also heard good things about Shrek.
what is her favourite story or film, then go from there.
Definitely The Lion King.
'Shrek the Musical' We saw it last week, there were kids in there from 5 upwards and all really enjoying it.

those who have been to see The railway children, i understand its a good show, how did you book tickerts, from Waterloo station, on line or ticket agents, as had a look at the prices, and am a bit confused, says Platform 1, 2 and same again but cheaper prices, top tickets are expensive, especially for a family.
Hi em

I phoned to booked (phone number on adverts). Yes its a bit expensive but you'll be absolutely fine in the cheaper seats.

Imagine a railway platform with seats the length of it facing the track. There are only 8- 10 or so rows so nothing very high up like there is in a theatre. You can see from everywhere and it makes no difference at all which platform you sit on.
so cheap seats it is, see what we can book.
Horseshoes Thats the bit that gets me, i find its no good, i have to get up and do something, then come back and sit with a hanky, very emotional film
