Yeah, purpy. I'm a bloke, but I've had similar in the past when I've given up smoking.
zebadee and cowtipper - I am well impressed with your kind and considerate attitude towards PMS. Perhaps if Mr. Den had been more like you two lovely men, he may not have had his dinner thrown at him - on one occasion smashing through the kitchen door window........
//"What's up with you, time of the month?"//
Is a euphemism for "Why are you being an unreasonable bitch?". If I get a goat I win.
I'm with kryptic to a deree- if his wife/girlfriend/partner/whatever is being a total cow once a month, he's every right to complain, as I bloody would too! Yes she might be in a bit of pain, feel like crap or whatever but it doesn't give you the right to treat someone you're supposed to love horribly.

Get her told kryptic, "it's belly ache woman, shuddup whining, gobble the ibuprofen, stop being a wuss and get a grip of yourself"
it's one of the good things about being post-menopausal, every day is christmas day, for me and him :)
as for 'having the painters in' and other coded phrases for us girls having periods, what century are we in? it's called a period, no need for anyone to be coy about using the word.
you've obviously never suffered from proper PMT BOO, otherwise you'd know that a few ibruprofen aren't the answer...
I'm amused at your statement Boo but I bought mine a gun after we got married.
Probably right Eth, but in all honesty, how many women will use PMT as an excuse to scream and rant at everyone around them?

I get belly ache, and feel a bit "down" but i personally wouldn't dream of screaming and behaving any differently to how i behave the other 3 weeks of a month.
you wait BOO, your time will come :)
i never suffered f rom anything remotely like PMS or PMT until about 5 or 6 years before the menopause. hits you like a ton of bricks and comes as a complete surprise, and there's not a darned thing you can do about it...unless you want to go on hrt, which me and many other ladies don't want to.
evening primrose? forget it, might as well be smarties, in fact they'd probably have more effect.
i most sincerely hope you sail through it BOO, when your time comes, but if have a feeling you'll be just like the rest of us.

My missus thinks that PMS stands for Pass My Shotgun.
Listen to her. She's fragile at that moment and needs that extra grounding. Don't just nod and smile. Go for walks, or ask her camly to go for a walk. And if it's really bad, than she needs to get a grip on herself, there is no need for that ***. This is from a womans perspective by the way. ;)
This is very instructive.

Just don't let her near your Computer!! : -)
Good point Noraq. Self-preservation kicking in...
:-)
I haven't worked out why some on this thread feel that men should put up with this "stuff". If I was not feeling well and started screaming at my wife I am sure I would get short shrift!
Lots of understanding & support.
When I get it I just want to shut myself away in my room for 2 or 3 days but I can't as I have to get on with things. It's a horrible feeling. Paracetamol & a hot water bottle can take care of the aches & pains, but it's the way you feel that can't be easily cured.
