I've had a bird singing in the garden all morning. I haven't seen it. The noise it makes is exactly like the first part of a wolf whistle. Any ideas please?

it has the whooooeeeet call though and I think that's what Mrs O is hearing
Try and get a positive ID of the Bird Mrs O !
Blackbirds and Song Thrushes have a very good repertoire of songs and are good at mimicking.
Could also be one of the other Birds mentioned here by the others.
starlings are good mimicers too. could be a starling
I have a blackbird that wolf whistles from about 5.00am!! :)
