Hi, does anyone know how to find out whether someone is a Mason or not.
Also if there is a process or method of making them disclose this, for eg if Claimant is Mason, Judge is Mason and you are defendant and you would get a biased decision.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers

Was fairly common knowledge that my first MD was Grand Master of the Ebor lodge.........
"Any one who has a senior management position in business is a mason, "

Got some evidence to back up your fictitious claims?

Masons will tell you if they are indeed a Mason, but it's hardly something they would start a conversation with, is it? Ask, and they will let you know. Some long standing myths about them being held up here by some
I too will argue with the senior management statement, that's rubbish - and anyway, most of the senior managers I work with are women!

the funeral director who organised my grandma's funeral had a little badge on his tie which my great uncle who was also a mason pointed out to me as being the mason's symbol, he managed to negotiate a great discount with his fellow mason and neither of them hid the fact that they were mason's!

Thanks for your interesting replies.
Especially about Good Masons and Bad Masons.
This one must be a Bad one bearing in mind:
1. he has obtained address info about me through illegal use of the Police National Computer via a Mason colleague/police officer.
2. Threatened to kill me.
3. Contacted the Headmaster of my childs school, also a Mason, for info as to my whereabouts.
4 Has a proper criminal record, undisclosed to the MAsons.
Well, if this is so, then all of these people are breaking the law - can you contact the Police Complaints organisation?
oooookkkkkaaayyyy..................
<<1. he has obtained address info about me through illegal use of the Police National Computer via a Mason colleague/police officer.>>
Contact your nearest Police Station as soon as possible; as you've stated, this is illegal and the 'claimant' and his informer will get into serious trouble for this.
<<2. Threatened to kill me.>>
Make a statement to the Police about this matter.
<<3. Contacted the Headmaster of my childs school, also a Mason, for info as to my whereabouts.>>
If there has been a breach of the Data Protection Act, instruct a Solicitor to start proceedings against the school.
<<4 Has a proper criminal record, undisclosed to the MAsons. >>
And you know this................how ??

Or it could be that as the Defendant you DO actually have a case to answer and all of the above is nonsense ?
1) If you are a defendant in proceedings you HAVE to give your address. How do you know this info came from a policeman? Enquiry agents are very good at finding this stuff out.

Is this speculation on your part or do you have evidence to support 1, 3 and 4?

Otherwise I agree with JtH.

And irrespective of the potential actions at law you may have against him, this character is not suitable to be a mason and would undoubtedly be ejected if the Lodge Committee were made aware of it.
Bowlocks eddie, masons don't mind who knows who's in it. I know a few of them and if you ask them a question they tend to answer it if they can. Yes they are a society with secrets but they are far from a secret society. To answer the question most will tell you if they are a mason or not if you ask them but like anyone else they have a choice. They even had a lodge open day in Dorchester a coupl of years ago where anyone could go and look round.
so what have you done to incur the wrath of this guy then?
Are you sure he's a Mason and not a member of the Illuminati or the New World Order ?
When we had our new kitchen, the leccy was a lovely man...could talk the hind leg off a a donkey. Every other sentence was about the masons, his lodge, his mates yadda yadda. The landlord of our first pub was also a Mason, a Lewis. (son of a Mason) he used to have us in fits with stories of the lodge. One night we went in to find that his wife had washed his White gloves in with her red undies and he had to go that night with pink gloves!!
how do you know numbers 1 and 4?
Have you asked your children's head if he is a mason?
If 1 and 2 are true, then you need to speak to the relevant eople already suggested to you by JtH
lol, woofgang - cant imagine my FIL going with pink gloves =)
