British English dictionary in firefox

OK I downloaded the dictionary and installed it. It said that it would take effect next time I start Firefox, no joy, still not getting the correct spellings for English. What am I doing wrong?

very good ed but why is it defaulting to American spelling? e.g. synchronize is ok but synchronise is not!

Button's crew changed the wheels and tyres in 3.8 seconds today, is that a record? I did a google and the fastest I could find was a 4 second stop in and indy race.
