I have a desktop p.c. and cannot get any sound out the speakers. I know it isn't the speakers that are at fault. I have gone into various setting to try to rectify the problem, but with no success. The p.c. is not not on mute.

Any ideas at what I can try to restore the sound ?

Cheers in advance.

Go through the checklist.
Ensure volume is turned up on whatever programme it is you're using.
Ensure you're not on mute.
Ensure cables are plugged in.
Ensure cables are pluged into the correct connection.
Ensure headphones are not plugged in.
If it's non of those, there may be a problem with the soundcard, but try the obvious solutions first.
