I have found the answer to this question many times but am unable to tie it in with the amount of letters/words required.

Question is the "little perforations advertising tea-bags" ... OK imagine we all know it was Tetley but the answer calls for two words (5,4).

Any ideas please? (Or am I totally missing the point?????) Thanks.

I saw Quick Brew mentioned but this was another product altogether.
Yeah wasn't it Roy Hudd who used to say that ?

Piano roll ?
Remember the old PG tips Chimps ad with the piano ?

Have just re-read the question and it actually says ... What type of tea-bag was advertised as having little perforations?

Do you think they want an answer other than the actual brand maybe?
Quick brew

In a similar vein I know the answer to another question is "Samuel Johnson" but they want three words (6,6,7) but I can't find any reference to a middle name mentioned anywhere ... any thoughts please?
"Do you think they want an answer other than the actual brand maybe?"

No they just want you to give the right brand answer.

Try Googling it.
Doctor Samuel Johnson

OldGeezer ... I've been Googling for days now and can't find any reference other than Tetley.

I NEVER ask here until I have exhausted all other avenues of research etc., OR if my little grey cells simply refuse to play the game.

Will be sure to keep looking though.

emeritus ... thank you SO much ... I really should have realised that one ... how stupid I feel.
Indirect reference but there again there's never a guarantee an ad is saved for prosperity

“Join the QB’s and I’ll show you me little perforations!” – Tim is impersonating Roy Hudd who appeared in a series of adverts for 'Quick Brew' in the character of a sergeant major. In clipped military tones, he would refer to 'Quick Brew' as QB. The notion was that the tea bags had better perforations to brew more quickly.

Oh thanks OldGeezer ... couldn't find that reference at all! I think sometimes you are so sure you know the answer it blinds you to any other possibilities ... or something like that. Very grateful for your help.
