When you are doing a crossword and you have some of the letters but can't think what the missing letters are what do you do?
Is there a web site where you can put in the letters that you have and it comes up with some suggestions?
For example I have g - - h and the clue is surprised expression but I can't think what the missing letters are.
The answer is probably quite obvious but my brain can't work it out.
Many thanks.

Gosh perhaps?

Try Chambers word wizard online- you can enter g??h and it will provide a list of words that fit.
Or of course just come on here and ask us :-)
I find this one useful:

Yes bookbinder I usetnat too, and they have a messgae board as well.
There's also 'onelook' which also lets you click on the results top check the meanings
...also, missprim, if you enter "crossword solvers" into your Google search box, you will get a long list to choose from. chelle7272 is quite right; you could just ask us! But if we're all dahn the pub, at the supermarket, or wherever, it's handy to have a website at your f-n-e-t-p- (10) outer ends of digits on hands!

Thanks chelle I did as you suggested and it came up with gosh as one of the words so I guess it must be that.
Thanks also to bookbinder, will look at that site too.
lol bookbinder, I like how dahn the pub was the first option.....

Sorry I cannot mark either of you as the best answer as you have both been very helpful. Sometimes I don't ask simple questions in case you think I'm thick.
Don't be shy of asking, missprim! We're all here to help, not criticize! I'm sure that many, many people have been too embarrassed to ask about what they thought simply everyone knows, so you are not alone! Nobody on this site will say that you are thick, so I, for one, look forward to seeing more questions from you!

Thank you very much bookbinder, you are very kind.
www.oneacross is also helpful
The best I've found is as below, as it also gives definitions.
