If your friend said that he wanted to book Egypt for him, you and another mate for New Year, Half Board, 5 nights leaving on 31st Dec for £169 would you go?
I could in theory, no massive work commitments, no family obligations, my GF is happy for me to go (as long as I take her away for her birhtday in Feb).
I could easily wash, iron and pack 5 days worth of clothing. My travel insurance is in date... What is stopping me?? I just cant commit to it for some reason.
Shall I go for it????

There was an element of guilt i suppose and some apprehension when I suggested this to her, ofcourse. We do a lot of travelling and I dont do much by myself or with friends in terms of weekends away or nights out etc... So sometimes you have to do things by yourself.
That said, she has demanded a weekend away for her birthday, which I am only too glad to do and plus we were not planning on spending New Year together, we did Xmas and Boxing Day and left New Year open incase we wanted to make plans with friends..
do i have to come over there and drag you to the airport?????
Buy the ticket, send it to me, problem solved!!
If it's awful it's only for 5 days and it will be an experience whichever. I'll go if you don't want to.
Watch out for the shark

Got more details now, my mate is with the travel agent. Think he going with or without me! Hotel is called Hotel Bay View, just off the main strip and pretty quiet. Not by the sea but has a small pool, bar and roof terrace. Looks like an ok place to spend 5 nights. There has been a review on the price though. He got all excited at the £169 price tag but god knows where he saw that, now in the travel agents, it will cost us £387, but will be All Inclusive, not half board?
I dont think I can spend that just after Xmas but he is a good mate who has had a s**t Xmas and doesnt want to be ay home for new year, but I cant make that my sole reason for going.
I have an hour or so to decide! I know I know, whats my problem - Just GO!!!
well that's more than double the price, for me that would be the kicker and i wouldn't be able to go. but if you can afford it then go for it

But for the extra, its all drinks and food. The difference is £218 each so have to balance whether 5x lunches and 5 days of booze warrants the cost?
£218 for 5 days worth of food and drink, thats a rip off!
Question Author
Its become less of a matter of do I WANT to go, because in truth - yeah I do. It is now the weigh up of the cost which doesnt include transfers so its £400 at least now or £80 per day if you look at it that way!

It hasnt worked out guys. After initial should I/shouldn't I and then exicitement at the possibility of going, the mutual feeling is the eventual price was excessive, we could afford it but it is money I can put to better use, my friend agreed.
Thanks for your input and encouragement, we should sometimes take a gamble and just go for things, if you dont have commitments that would keep you at home that is! Perhaps the opportunity will come again!
Just go. I'll keep your gf happy.
