Do you like Christmas Hampers, would you send any to friends. I prefer to buy what I like, hampers usually have things we would never buy or eat, jars of goose fat, olives which I do like but an acquired taste, mincemeat etc always a tin or jar that will be left in the cupboard till next year!

Yes, getting mincemeat at Christmas is a bit late, really.

You've made all your mincemeat items by then.

Not th
Not that I actually make any myself ... but you get my drift.
they do seem to be a waste, DH used to get one from work and we would give/throw away most of it :-(
A lovely thing to do for someone though, to buy individually the things they like and make up your own.
you can chose what you know the person/people will like i bought two fortnum and mason hampers last year with every thing i knew they would like.
I do like hampers and yes you have to go off what you would like.

I have regularly used www.hamper.com because they have a 'create your own hamper' which is really cool just choose a container to suit what you want to spend, and the look through all the sections from booze to cheese to puddings and cakes and yummy chocys. You can just click and unclick if you change your mind, and you have a certain budget. You can type a personal message and choose a specific delivery date. Cant fault them.

I won a Hamper a few years back in a local draw it was put together from donations ended up with tins nobody else wanted soups beans peas. Better to give a voucher and then people can but what they want.
My Mum used to get an hamper every year from her job.

But it was full of stuff we did not normally eat.
Exotic conserves, pates made from the weirdest cuts of meat, crystallized ginger.
No, I would never send one, I think they are too expensive and not everyone likes the same things.
waste of cash
they are talking Chrimbo boxy (didn't realize there was a section for Chrimbomaniacs like me)
I like it, lol
When I lived in London I sent my mum a Harrods Xmas hamper.........she said it was the nicest present she'd ever received.
posh cow!;-)
I like the baskets best :)
Yes bobbi, but I wouldn't send one. Oscarina asked if we would send them to friends, my answer is no, it's too expensive and we don't do presents with friends anyway. If I knew in July that I would be getting one and I could choose what was in it, that would be different!
I got my parents the M&S hampers a couple of times. They had quite nice stuff in them. One hamper had a lovely caramelised onion relish in it which we still buy from Marks now.
