My daughter at the age of 5 had a doll called 'Drowsey' it had a pretty little face but its eyes were only half open (hence Drowsey) This doll hardley left her side.
We went on holiday to Italy, Drowsey came too, but coming home she got left on the plane. Daughter was heartbroken. I must have made a hundred phone calls trying to find her, in the end we had to give up.Manufacturers had stopped making the doll too.
25 years later when my daughter was pregnant with her first child (a girl) I decided to try to track 'Drowsey' down again. Found a toy store in the USA who actually stocked her but didn't ship to the UK. So I sent a long email with our story and asked if they could make an exception, One of the assistants in the store took it to heart and personally dealt with it.
When my first G/daughter was born 'Drowsey' was her first gift and first dolly.(My daughter was in floods of tears to see Drowsey again)
That G/daughter now treasures her Drowsey and she doesn't leave her side either.
