Hi. Can anyone tell me if they know of a landline number for the new Clydesdale bank phone number for telebanking. The number I use at the moment is an 0845 number, which is charged from a mobile. I found a landline number on SayNoTo0870.com and have been using that since. However, from December, they have announced they will be changing to 08447 362616 which is 4p per minute from a BT landline (which I don't have) and "considerably more" from a mobile.

I feel the banks take enough of my hard earned cash, without paying exhorbitant charges for a phone call. Anyone help?

Sorry I don't have a number for you, but I totally support you on this. I object strongly to this game of trying to stay one step ahead of the regulators, and treating the cuustomers like idiots. Perhaps the existing landline will continue to work for you. After all they will probably disconnect the 0845 but the geographical number may not change. Fingers crossed. Also you could call them and threaten to leave if they don't provide you with a geographical number. They are probably trying to push phone customers into using internet banking whch costs them a lot less to run. Would that be a better route for you?
