Must admit I'm wary of internet banking and don't know much about it. My question is a simple one. If I want to pay a bill on line, or send money to an individual, what do I need to know about that business or person in order to do so? Thanks.

To send money to a person you need their name as it appears on their account, bank name, sort code and account code, the same for businesses. For credit cards etcet, there is a pick list that has most of the credit cards, banks building socs etc in it. If yours isn'y there, you need the sort code and account code of their bank plus your account number (card or account) so they know which account to set it against.
Provided you are careful i think that internet banking is a real boon.
