New job application

I took a chance late last year and left a permanent job for a temp job in a school covering for a lady on maternity leave, as it something I have wanted to do for years. My contract was only until end of July but has been extended twice. The lady is coming back to work shortly but only part time. I was working 36hrs but have now been offered 18hrs up until end of the year. I have seen another job advertised (its more hours and permanent) but on the job description there are 3 or 4 things I have not been trained to do. Would it be worth me while applying or would it be a waste of time? I am just worried that I'm going to end up with nothing in a few months!

Apply, yelenots. The skills identified in a job advert are for the ideal candidate, and depending on what they are, the combination where all applicants can do all the required tasks straight away may not be realistic. There will be some key things you must have, and others which are "desirable". You can always say in your application "I can do this and this and this in the job description - as yet I have no experience in this, but I am very willing to learn and to expand my skills". Go for it.
