Can someone explain why some people cannot recognise the difference between a relationship between two adults, and the forced sexual relationship (often accompanied by threats) between an adult and a child?

I've just read a thread where someone commented along the lines of 'paedophilia is bad but two men togther is not far behind".

How popular is this (slightly bizarre) point of view?

Is it the natural extention of the Pope's claim that saving the world from homosexuality is "Like saving the rainforests"

Has a lesbian ever caught HIV from another woman? No, of course not! The problem is all about penetration. If you are at all religious HIV was God's warning sign that sex between males was wrong. If you are an agnostic then evolution would say mankind is going up a blind alley but this is not the case and so could destroy the human race. Survival of the fittest, blah,blah,blah.

Sophie if you are religious God's warning was not heeded. It was not until the turn of the new millenium that hetrosexual people went down with HIV. By that time about 30 million homosexuals had already had it.

I'm not religious in the slightest and agree with what someone else said before- HIV is a reason not to have protected sex, rather than a reason not to be homosexual.
Also, if two men were in a sexually active relationship without penetration would that be ok?

There aren't any confirmed cases of it, but the Center for Disease Control says it's very likely given that there's strong evidence it can be passed on through vaginal fluids etc. It still advises women who sleep with women to take preventative measures, anyway.

From the lack of response to my question, do I infer that:

a) No-one has objections to incest? or
b) Some taboos still exist?

If the latter, why is it OK to mock those who cleave to taboos that you don't support whilst you uphold other taboos?
