I've got a saxophone (very good make/model) and want to sell it now. Where would be the best place to sell or advertise it?

How much are you asking for it? Perhaps if you auction it off on eBay you might do well.

nope i wouldn't put it on ebay they aren't selling for much on there and most have buy it now for less tan 400 ,i just bid on a trumpet though x
wow, that's mega bucks!

would a music shop buy it from you? or could you advertise at a uni where someone studying music might want it? specialist magazine? see if Clarence Clemons is on Facebook? lol!

good luck, anyway :o)
Sara has the right idea, I was about to post similar. A reputable music shop could be quite helpful.
I think there's an extra zero on the end of the prices! wheres saxyjag when you need him/her?!
Gumtree
Holy cr@p ... £5,000 !!

That's ...

a fab holiday

a motorbike

a term's school fees

the shopping trip from heaven

lunch at Le Manoir Aux Quat Saisons for all your pals

or ... a saxophone !
My local music shop runs a commission sale scheme for secondhand instruments. They will advise on a suitable asking price and then sell the item through the shop for a percentage commission. Could be worth seeing if your local one has a similar scheme.

Judging by the value of what you have, it sounds like a pro-model. You might consider contacting this company for advice - http://www.saxophones.co.uk . They are very reputable in the sax community.
I sold mine recently via www.musicalmoney.co.uk.
Got a good price and was quick too, hope that helps
