Up here in Preston we had the loudest thunder I have EVER heard, it was right over head, the lightening flash was not even a second before the thunder and it was so loud it made me cower and it was terrifying, it was about 4am then 6am, I though the first one was something hitting the house! Really frightening.

After being stuck out in the sun for 5 days solid as soon as we heard the rain we got up and went and sat in the garden...lovely.

No thunder though.
I actually really like thunderstorms!! Not sure if we had one last night, but the rain woke me up. Can't have been too pleasant outside because there were 4 cats on the bed this morning!!

Think we could be in for a storm later. It's gone really muggy and the wind has got up. There are some quite threatening looking clouds moving over too.
thunderbolts and lightning, very very frightening indeed
had a huge downpour no thunder about 11.00 feel I am missing out...stormsare s energising hopefully the rain we had will trigger something later...
All the other mums in playground this morning were saying "My God, did you hear the storm last night?", I was like "errr, what storm?" When I'm asleep, im like someone dead, and I didn't hear a thing.
I once had a bird who got well turned on by having sex during a thunderstorm (we were inside, not out in the thunderstorm!)
Was it a lark or a nightingale joe?

Boo - that reminds me of the earthquake we got in Lincolnshire about 18 months or so ago, maybe 2 years ago. It woke me up - frightened me witless - the house shook and the noise was indescribable.
At the time my daughter and stepson were living with me - both of them slept through the entire event and thought I was joking the next morning when I asked them if they'd heard it.....
That was Feb 08 Salla....I was sleeping at the hospital with my Dad when it happened. It was a Monday.
Slept through both earthquakes....evenb though housemates mum was thrown out of bed by it and she only lived a few mins away....so disappointed when I heard as experiencing and earthquake is on my bucket list
