Gosh You're Tall Aren't You

I am 6 ft 1 in tall and when I go out at the weekend (and especially if I wear a short skirt) I am asked several times "how tall are you?" or told "gosh, you're tall aren't you?" This gets a little annoying especially since everyone who says it (always men) says it as though they are the first person to mention it to me and I've never heard it before! What witty replies can I use to make myself feel better about it??

ummmm how about im not tall its just that ur very short and no doubt got a small ermmm well u know what i mean lol or u cud be more polite than that and say really? am i?? i never noticed and nobody has ever told me that before thanks i think u should buy me a drink for that lol

how about gosh arent you bald?

or if they've got hair, 'Do you know you have dandruff'

You will only feel better about it once you have reconciled this fact with yourself - ie don't feel uncomfortable with it being pointed out. The simple answer is a smile and a yes, or a smile and a taller than you etc. Don't be so defensive likely they are just trying to approach you because they find you attractive. Never let anyone else make you feel bad about yourself.
El D I don't think sasha feels bad about herself, she's just hacked off!!! I'd probably say something like "the last time I was your height I was 10! But then I am a gobby cow - lol
Just tell them your a big center half going to waste.
"pardon? what was that? i can't hear you from up here"

You could have a T-shirt printed :

"Yes, I am tall - 6ft 1in in fact..... next question?"

Jealous????
Nice one buddy
Things don't change do they. There's always someone with a smart remark.I was very tall as a girl...way back in the dark ages..!! ..If they were being particularly rude i just used to say ...
"Yes I am tall ..but I find the air up here much fresher".

Thanks for all the answers! Am definitely going to get a t-shirt printed, funniest thing I'v heard in ages. Thanks again!!! x

How about "do you think?"

or "really?  i never noticed!"

how about 'nope, your just short!'

Am 6ft 1in too.. if I had a pound for everytime someone has asked me that question, I wouldn't have to hope I'd win the lottery every week!

I've said all the responses that have been mentioned already and many many more (some best not to repeat!) Being so tall you notice the people coming over to you knowing full well what the question will be.. I answer it before they even have chance to ask the question.. 'Yes, am quite tall, 6ft 1in to be exact!' I have had quite a few people stumped and speechless.. I know it may seem rude, but would these random people ask you the same question if you were 5ft 7in!

And yes I agree, it is mainly men who will ask, usually shorter too. I've come to the conclusion they feel inferior and have a complex about a woman being taller than them.
