*niece even! .. whoooops! lol
I'm unfamilar with the Nokia 6300 but most phones have a socket one can buy a data lead to connect to a PC. Or if the handset has bluetooth then. if your PC doesn't have it, you can get bluetooth dongles to plug in and give it bluetooth capability.

Failing that you may be able to get a card reader for your PC to read the mobile card ?

Cables are cheapest.
Hi looobs, I was just about to say that............he lied. Yea, it`s a lovely day innit, but I`m looking forward to to-morrow when rain for my garden is forcast. We have enough sun here in the south of the UK

hi old geezer, thanks for replying,
yep ive got a little bluetooth dongle whatsit to plug into my laptop and can hopefully link up to the bluetooth on my phone .....
but .... how do i get to send the photo and video to my laptop because i cant see how i can save them to the 'gallery' where i assume they need to go, so i can then bluetooth them to my lappy....?

greetings bill, nice to see you to see you nice, how you diddling, hope alls well with you ;o)
I can only hazard a guess. Does your laptop operating system (windows 7 ?) not automatically detect the bluetooth connection ? Doesn't the mobile phone menus offer the synching capability and the send file capability ?

I think you need to explore what the PC and phone menus offer, try to spot what'll work. That's what I'd do, trial and error. Feel there must be something there.

Failing that search in the start/programs/accessories menus and see if there is anythign bluetooth related.
Looobyloo, on my previous Nokia phones I had to use the up/down keys to highlight the required picture or video in the message and then select options, which should give you the options to save to memory card etc.

I haven't had a 6300, but most Nokias seem to operate in the same way!

hi again old geezer,
im not at the bluetoothing stage yet, and that hopefully wont be my problem if/when i do get to it - i wont hold me breath tho! lol
what im having problems with is the saving my pic and vid to the phone memory card etc. ...

hi aquariel, thanks for nipping along,
yeah thats my problem, there is no save to memory or save to memory card option.
theres the usual reply, edit, delete, use as template, forward, mark etc but thats it, oh and theres a 'move' option too, but that only moves the pic to 'saved messages' where the same options are offered - reply, delete, forward etc.
grrrrrrr! lol ...
It it is on the phone is must be saved somewhere already. Surely that place has to either be internal phone memory, or a memory data card ? Do you have a memory card plugged into the phone, or just the SIM card that gives you access to the network ?
Question Author
thanks again old git
right, ive just had a look, and yes theres a memory card in there, it came with the phone, its just a little un.
ive checked through everything on there and theyre not there, (i didnt think they would be because you have to manually save things to to the card)
these pic and video messages i received today are just sitting in my 'received texts' folder on my phone, along with all the others...

Looobylove, my, you`ve been a busy gal to-day sorting out your probs, glad it`s all working well now. I have an ear problem which is driving me nuts and my GP says I`ll have to live with it, so I`m not good company at present, I`m sorry to say.
Question Author

it mustve been a very nice dream for you then bill,
youdve been nice and snug and warm and very comfy anyway lol :o)
Sounds good to me hon.
Great

I have used Suite in the past - not too keen on it though, seems to dig itself in deeply to the operating system. I prefer appllciations that simply run when I ask them to and go away afterwards, until next time.
