Be honest. Can you keep a secret ?

If a close friend tells you something in confidence do you feel you have to share it with another friend for advice to help your close friend out.? I will admit I did once but it was only because I was worried about her then I had to tell her to seek expert advice. And this is what I say now as no matter what advice you give sometimes ,that person will make there own mind up. So can you keep a secret?

Normally I am very good at keeping secrets.

I always keep anything said to me in confidence a secret, unless I believe there would be a detrimental impact in me doing do.

However, I refuse to keep 'family secrets'. I've done that in the past and got nothing but grief. So now, if 'family' want to tell me something in secret I always stop them, and tell them that I won't be bound by the 'not telling anyone rule' and give them the opportunity of keeping their trap shut...........

The only person I ever share things with is my partner. Even if it's not a secret.

i am being totally honest i can totally keep a secret 100% is probably one of the only few good traits i have though lol

I usually ask people not to tell me secrets unless they are prepared for me to make my own decision about telling people. If it is relatively harmless or just about someones personal life and doesn't involve anything illegal then yes ~I will keep a secret. The other part of the deal is I won't lie if I am asked outright by a third party so for example when my boss was playing away I didn't tell anyone but I wouldn't cover for him either. Luckily his wife never asked me...
I don't share my own.... but most of my life is pretty open ....

Has some one asked you to keep a secret you feel uncomfortable about?

Yes Jack the hat I refuse that as well I also don't want to listen to my daughter saying anything about my son and vice verca. But I can totally keep something in confidence . I only shared it that once and it didnt do any good.

I'll go to my grave with a secret. Even if someone tells me something and they did not say don't repeat it, I'll not repeat it. I consider myself to be the most honest, trustworthy, and loyal...

Yes though it means I get told loads of them which can sometimes be more of a curse than a blessing.

I have been told things and tell other people. I'm a bit of a gossiper. But if a close friend tells me something in confidence and I have promised not to say anything then I wont. I have lots of secrets

I love gossip but I'm very good at keeping secrets.......I usually forget what I've been told within 5 minutes.

lol...same as me Craft. I'm crap with gossip because I forget what I've been told. Although I'm fairly good at retaining useless information...
