If any one remembers this song by Bobbie Gentry, can you tell me what she and Billy Joe MacAllister were throwing off the Tallahassee Bridge at the end of the song? It was on the radio today and I just wondered what it could be?

Thanks for the quick answers but what about this bit in the lyrics

"He said he saw a girl that looked a lot like you up on Choctaw Ridge"
"And she and Billy Joe was throwing somethin' off the Tallahatchie Bridge"
