super glue on worktop

Does anyone know how to remove super glue from a matt black laminate kitchen worktop please?

If still liquid, wipe with a paper towel ? If dried my *guess* would be to carefully scrape it off with a razor blade or stanley knife. But be very careful

There is a liquid substance that dissolves it and is occasionally sold with the glue itself, in a similarly small bottle. If you google superglue cleaner you will find numerous suggestions.

Bostik make a release Agent which you can buy in small glass bottles, but have not used it yet. I suppose it softens the Glue making it easier to remove if you pour it over the hardened stuff.

Beware that scraping is unlikely to be limited to just the glue and not at all the laminate surface. In fact, any of the abrasive suggestions will leave a mark on the worktop - dissolving the stuff is best but there is no guarantee that there will be no sign left - but it will diminish with time.

Water vapour in the air is the catalyst that allows suoerglue to set. If over-applied, water will ''rot'' the superglue. Leaving the glue covered with a wet cloth will eventually let you remove it - but it could take some days! ''Superglue remover'' is the speediest option.
