All I can say is poor tiger and I don't feel sorry to hear of this man's death.
Hey lofty!

I was reading about this earlier! Some people are mad! A tiger as a pet!?!

I really hope they dont put the Tiger down because of it - that would be completely wrong!

Hi wiggal. It's just cruelty to keep a wild animal like this in a cage. I would attack somebody who shoved me in a cage!! How could the authorities consider that this is OK!! Just makes me wild. The tiger needs to be rehomed, but I fear it is too late for it.
Well it will be very limited on where the tiger can be rehomed to surely after living in (whats the word, begins with a C!) for so long! Animals like that should be out in the wild, not holed up in someones garden!!
I hope they see sense and do not put the tiger down...it was only doing what it does in the wild.

They need to move to a sanctuary of come sort, with other tigers and a lot more space.

if you're gonna get in a cage with a tiger, whatever happens is your own fault!

I have wild animals in my garden - rabbits and moles, mice, rats and voles. No tigers!!
The average pussy cat is pretty fierce when in a foul mood - I have had to get antibiotics from the doctor a couple of times after my little princess has been in a strop. But a tiger? One playful swipe and you could lose a limb.

Why would anybody wish to keep a beautiful animal like that in a cage? I wonder how much was left of the guy when the police turned up.
Thats it Lofty! Thank you!

I was really trying to think of it but the only word that kept popping into my head was capability! :-s
OMG Lottie - anyone keeping a wild animal caged at home are so cruel.

A few years ago, we had to rehome a beautiful kitten that grew into a very vicious cat! She started off okay, but soon started lashing out, scratching anyone who went to gently stroke her. My husband ended up at the hospital for a tetanus jab, as his hand came up like a ballooon after she sunk her claws into it! Then when our third grandchild was a few months old, she scratched her face without any provocation!

That was supposedly a domesticated cat, so God knows what this old man looked like after an attack from a Siberian tiger!
it may sound terrible to keep a tiger as a pet but there are more tigers in captivity in the USA (this includes zoos) than there are in the wild in India. If a tiger were to make an informed decision about where to go to safeguard its family's future, Ontario might be the best answer.
When we were on a fly drive & stayed in Las Vegas, I remember seeing some white tigers kept in a hotel there. Anything for entertainment & money!
