I burnt my arm on Sunday. I ran it under cold water and had frozen peas on it for about 2 hours. I had to because of the pain :-(

I thought it was going to be ok but today it's starting to blister. Is there anything that can be put on it?

The burns about the size of my palm.

I haven't had them since I was breastfeeding and Daniel Spaniel was a little too gung-ho.....
salla...LOL....teat's.....now that is my area.
Thought it might be sqad.

What would you recommend for the soothing thereof?!

Yesterday it looked like I had goose bumps on but they were tiny blisters. I had two larger blisters at the edge. Last night I started getting larger blisters at the other end. This morning when I woke up I had a massive one and the skin has gone all loose and saggy. I went back to sleep and must have popped it in my sleep. There's still fluid under the skin which moves when I move my arm. The skin is looking very delicate and I think it'll rip off very easily.

Is it time to cover it up?

And Sqad....do you agree it's too minor to be going to A&E wasting their valuable time?

moomoo's answers have gone.....

It's a scald from steam.
ummmm I wouldn't go to A/E but it is your decision .

Don't worry about the blister bursting, but a sterile dressing would now be advisable.

That's what I thought and that's what I'll do. Thanks sqad.

Moomoo posting links to people with infected burns and was on about amputation...!!
I'd ring the doctor or your local chemist for advice. If the blister has burst and the wound is open it could become infected.
craft...the wound isn't open as she says that the skin is still there.
I'd still pop to the local chemists for advice......mine is excellent.

It's only got a little snip but I'll go to the chemist later and get it sorted. I can see one of the kids grabbing me and pulling my skin off, so I'm avoiding them. Any excuse.
ummmm...I thought that "amputation post" by moomoo was disgusting.....I was going to comment, but didn't think people would really taker her comments seriously.......no wonder the ED pulled it.
Bl00dy hell - I must have missed the amputation post - that must have been reassuring for you ummm. MooMoo - what a cow!
i recently burnt my arm (actually it was my other half who did it) with an iron, it was stinging like crazy and my aunt put sudocrem on it, the stinging stopped almost instantly and never got a blister
Question Author
I think this one was too deep to avoid the blister. You shouldn't put cream on burns.....it keeps them cooking.

I wasn't worried about the amputation thing, I just thought she was being dramatic.
I badly burnt myself a while ago and after a week the blister burst and green pus came from it. I went to see my GP and he gave me a cream with silver in it, it was marvelous, it took a while but the infection cleared up well. I can't remember the name of the cream though. See you doc is my advice.
