downloading photos

hi all you knowlageable people of computor land,is it possible and how? to download photos from my nokia 6500 clasic to a acer aspire one web book with limpus linux lite v1.0 7.e operating systerm,i have a nokia data usb data cable,but the webbook does not seem to detect it like windows does cheers

plug it back into a windows computer and then make sure you stop it by using "remove device safely" down by the clock before unplugging it and then try it again in the netbook.
