I have a tennis raquet but I'm no John McEnroe.
Actually - what nationality is TV presenter Andi Peters?
What would you say he is?
Looks like he's from one of the African countries to me. I'm sure it's not beyond the wit of man to trace his family tree back.

sp1814, the debate about being British is a tired one. What you have to accept, whether you like it or not, is that huge numbers of inhabitants of Britain are uncomfortable with being told who they have to live with and who is equal in the eyes of committees and councils, despite the fact that they look different, behave differently, live in localised ghettos, raise the crime rate, get selective privileges and housing, and shriek insults at the armed forces of their home nation. I have another word - traitors.
It's turned into something of a curate's egg this thread.
Firstly I agree that the B.N.P have the right to stand and that they won fairly and squarely based on the people who bothered to vote.
The easiest way to defeat them is to vote against them.
Jamaal Islamia or any other "foreign" nationalist group that bases it's policy on ethnic, religious or national identity has as much right to stand in elections, do other people agree with that sentiment?

With 27 countries in the EU, Britain doesn't have a great deal of control of its own borders. Sure, we can put tighter controls on people coming in from outside the EU, but we can't stop anyone wanting to come into the UK from an EU member state and that's the big problem. Immigration is simply out of control our social infrastructure cannot continue to absorb millions of immigrants.
The UK has one of the best social welfare systems in the world an almost free universal healthcare system, generous benefits system (with no requirements to prove you've paid a penny into that system), and many well established minority residential areas. It's hardly surprising that the UK looks like the land of milk and honey to some people.
The only way I can see this situation changing is by getting the UK out of the EU. It's a gravy train and we need to derail it. We obviously need to trade with the EU but we should draw the line at governmental control by them.
Get the UK out of the EU. Take back control of our own borders. Introduce a points based system of immigration and stick to it. Scrap the Human Rights Act (aka. The Criminal's Charter) and get a sensibly written constitution detailing the rights AND responsibilities of the individual.
Doing the above would pull the rug out from beneath the BNP.
