Politicians accused of misusing public money will receive hundreds of thousands of pounds in pensions and benefits as part of a 20 million payoff for British MEPs who retire this week.

Ashley Mote, the former UKIP MEP who was jailed for benefit fraud, has a pension worth 174,968 and will receive a transitional payment of 32,382. Both men are in their seventies and can draw the final-salary pensions immediately.

The Anti-EU brigade want to revert to a common trading situatuation.

Only one problem - that's not on offer.

With a world of powerful states like the US, Russia and China we only have power if we act together.

The EU has power to take action against powerful companies like Microsoft when they act against people's interests or against the US when they set up trade embargoes like the steel one.

We cannot do that alone.

In the EU we have power outside we do not.

That's why Murdoch's media empire is full of anti-EU tripe.
Lucy as a member of the EEC we have prority, no they wouldn't stop selling to us.

They would stop buying from us. Why because they have an agreement to trade whithin the EEC.

So you have a contract to provide apples to Italy all donr the the min of ag (or whatever) That Stops and the Italians buy from France.

What market do you sell your apples in?

How do you pay your workers.

Look before you read the hype that sections of the media would make you belive.

Research it - don't take my word for it.

Yes they would stop buying from us, because the EEC is an ECONOMIC COMMUNITY which guarantees the interets of its members. If for instance we make car doors for Peugeot in Coventry this will be done under the community.

If this proves less than profitable to Peugeot the EEC will ensure subsidies protect the agreement and the jobs.

This is done because we are in the EEC. If we leave, the subsidy stops the jobs are lost and Peugot get thier doors done in Germany.

Whilst this is being done Hoover are getting door seals for fridges and washing machines from Belgium and motors for vacum cleaners from Spain again the economic viability of the whole thing is subsidised. This is on the understanding that Hoover get a free run at the European market. If we leave the EEC stop subsidies to that agreement, Hoover would have to source parts from else where cost rise sales fall. This is very SIMPLE to understand.

Jake has the right of it and as I said don't take my word for it, its there in black and white. Not by politicians are agenda driven journalists but by economists.

Theres only one person here being taken in, and its not me.
