Yes some may say it's all lies,

Where is the money coming from?

Would they implement these promises if they were to gain power?

But couldn't the same be said regarding the other party's promises laid out in their manifestos?

As I posted elsewhere a lot of the money appears to come from leaving the EU which is not down to them. As well as much of their immigration policy. That strikes me as a bit presumptuous.
Not to mention the knowledge that they are a bunch of weirdos of course :-)
Surely if they got into a position where their manifesto was relevant that means they would be in a position to call the shots regarding leaving the EU. The two go together.

Yes always best to trawl out the insults when one has no other knowledgeable argument to make.
The main problem with UKIP is not with their manifesto, it's with their trustworthiness.
As was established yesterday, OG, the UKIP manifesto commits them to holding a referendum if they gain power -- and pushing for a guarantee of one if they are asked to join a coalition.

Cheers. So if they failed to get the right referendum result then they can rightly claim that the public stopped all the changes they had costed.

If they got into power on their own, then I suspect a referendum would be a formality. If in a coalition, then as the minor party they'd have little sway in what was adopted as official policy, even if they got their referendum; so costing it isn't an issue.
Kind of academic really AOG, as they are never going to be in the position of having to carry out any of the things that is in the Manifesto.

That's the good thing about being a minor Party....you can say whatever you like, safe in the sure knowledge that you are never going to have to put your money where your mouth is.

So we will never know if it is lies or not, are we ?

By the way, congratulations to Farage...masses less drivel than last time !
If UKIP were honest they would have pointed out the referendum issue. And But they did not. They simply trawled out a list of populist measures pretending they they could afford them when thru cannot and as Mikey ssys safe in the knowledge that they won't ever be called on to deliver them
AOG, the same could be said for a lot of things but to give the impression that Ukip would take this country out of the EU which they are doing, when as Jim360 spotted yesterday, tucked away in the depths of their multiple page manifesto lies not the promise of exit but of an ‘In/Out Referendum’, really is hoodwinking the public in the extreme. Given the opportunity it would be impossible for them to deliver on the rest of their promises simply because they will not deliver on the fundamental promise that the majority of the electorate think they’re making. It’s a shameful bit of subterfuge.
Ukip are the only party to have their spending plans independently scrutinized/costed and OK'd.
Tories/Labour/MSM, in fact, the entire status quo, who hate & fear UKIP in equal measure have naturally attacked UKIP, not enough black faces, too many sausage rolls, etc. But not one of them has noticed this glaring hole in the finances.
So well done to our very own Ichi.
You should contact Ed ahead of tonight's debate, should lead to a job as some kind of analyst.
I have just about decided to vote for UKIP. I feel that they are inherently honest (yes, I'll be howled down, I know). I'm not politically unaware or hugely prejudiced and I don't think my vote will change the way in which my constituency is represented (Tory - Yorkshire Wolds, Davies is M.P. and was a Whip, enough in itself to put me off). I hope, however, that my small action will be one of quite a lot and will temper the thinking of the next Government and make them look at common sense and common feeling as a political possibility.
Jourdaine....You are, of course, entitled to vote how you wish, and even though you are at odds with my thinking on this subject, I would support your right to do so....You know...all that Voltaire stuff.

Just don't expect anything to change on the morning of Friday 8th May, at all, even a little bit.
I don't, Mikey. That's the sad bit, but if I don't vote then I don't deserve a say - that's my feeling. Mr J2 is considering either not voting (for the first time in his life) or else writing 'None of the above' on his paper. I'm one of those who was raised to see voting as a civic and hard-earned duty.
I am with you 100% on your last sentence Jourdain. However, please see my latest post in News before committing yourself !
Will do, Mikey. :)
£1.3 million from the owner of the Daily Express
Psybbo...You missed out "pornographer" in between the and owner !
Jourdain, // I feel that they are inherently honest//

But they’re not. I’ve listened to Nigel Farage many times talking about his determination for this country to leave Europe but not once have I heard him mention Ukip’s intention to hold an in/out referendum. He gives the impression that Ukip would take the bull by the horns, but now their manifesto has been published that is clearly not so. He’s told us his figures on other issues add up – but if we don’t leave the EU and with a referendum in the offing there’s a very good chance we won’t – his figures can’t possibly add up because quite simply he won't have the money to do what he says he's going to do. Nothing but disingenuous hot air!!
Mikey, //Just don't expect anything to change on the morning of Friday 8th May, at all, even a little bit. //

Surely you don't mean that. ;o)
