oh right, coincidentally, Uncle Mick who lived there (Smethwick) was Irish. I bet Dublin is a pleasant place to visit, the Dublin rep will be there on Monday i believe. I think they will be flying won't they? It would take too long by ferry.
Chattycathy I hope we stay up! The Bluenoses,Seals,Dingles and the Righteous Baggies in the Prem :-)
Just got to stuff Liverpool in 12 and half hours time to give ourselves a chance! Night night I need to sleep before the big match!
Boing Boing!!!
I went to Birmingham years ago to watch Spurs beat Aston Villa, also been to Coventry to see them get beat as well

Didn`t really stay to do any sightseeing as we got herded out of the ground straight back to the train station

I lived just outside of London for 30 years and hated it, live out in the sticks now and love it
yes its is so much quicker to fly to ireland. Dublin is nice but the rural areas so much nicer. I lived in sheffield for a while quite nice. Liked york also
i have worked in Brum many times, the place is great, the people are great , just like a city should be.
Bristol is lovely and so many historical things to see. The only thing is that because of the traffic you will have great difficulty in getting into the city and near impossibility in finding your way out. But enough to see and do while you are negotiating the map.
hey what about Newcastle, it's very cosmo now, loads of pubs and clubs, art galleries and theatres too, something for everyone and you will be guaranteed a huge Geordie welcome x
aww I hate how people portray birmingham so badly, its a lovely place and yes like most cities it has its problems. I hope you have a nice trip dot.

Hi cazzz and Bobbisox (tut lol) and totterdown, it won't be the nicest of trips, i will be given a hundred or so redundancy notices to deliver and also I'm putting some redundancy settlement questions to a panel representing the company. It's something I have never done but the majority of the staff in the North West branches felt I was the woman for the job, and so i am going to be responsible for their settlement packages, which is a bit daunting, but I think i can just get my head around the process.
Good Luck dot, nasty job but someone has to do it, you must be highly thought of in your job...take care x
agree awful job but that kind of job is never going to be easy, its a compliment that they think that you could handle such a delicate job.

Oh I guess that is the up beat way of looking at it, Some of the staff have been working for the company for over 20 years and they are very very upset, it's not about our company, it's the host store's new direction moving into autumn winter and we are being withdrawn from their sites, terrible blow after all this time, where our customers are going to find the same quality product i just don't know, many of them are very upset, they are such regulars . Then there's the future, for some staff they have really not thought what they will do, luckily I am fine but it's not nice having to deliver the bad news as you say.
