Thanks Stompey xxxx
Just got in ... and going out again.

But this is the answer.

Suppose it's one of my close pals (it would have to be!) ...

I am NOT my friend's moral guardian.

But I am a solid, committed, unqualified friend.

I never judge my friends.

I might not approve. But if a friend asked me to do this for her ...

... I would say "Yes"

And her secret would go with me to the grave.

Guys ... your friends have to be 100%, no questions.

Going back out now ... with one of my FRIENDS !!!
Jayne that's terrible

committed friend and commensurate liar?

Oh well

as i say its a moral thing.
friendship is a poor excuse for being a liar.

Hold the phone.....hold the phone!!

Lovely Christine....how comes Stomper, as lovely as he is, gets more piggin' kisses than i do!

JJ - respect your loyalty and opinion, sweetheart, but you could be put on the spot when the husband/boyfriend asks you/your friend to justify wherabouts etc...................you could find yourself in a little pickle, you little pickle!

What would you do then?
Tricky one, eh?

Much love

I'm back ... and I've just caught up with the last few posts.

Sorry, Leggy ...

Some things are subjective ... moral values, rights and wrongs, etc.

Other things are absolute ...

Love for a child ...

... and loyalty to your friends.

Friendship is 100%. It is simply not negotiable.

Yogi ... it might land me in a tight spot, but no amount of goading or coersion would persuade me to blab on a friend.

I would disapprove strongly, and I would tell the friend how much I disapproved ...

... but the answer would still be still "Yes"
and if you're friends with both of them, jj?
It is not possible to have the same sort of total friendship with a man that you have with you girl friends.

Yes, I have had men friends, of whom I have thought ... I think I can rely on you 100%.

But only girl friends of whom I have thought ... I KNOW that I can !!!

That's the best thing you can offer a friend. For them to know ...

If you EVER turn to me, I will NOT let you down.

I think that that trenscends any moralistic debates.
