Having not been on this site over the weekend, and having had a look around today I've noticed a few postings from someone with the name Lillabet - who isn't me! Most of these postings aren't offensive - just stupid. Apologising for offending people I haven't offended and asking 'Is it safe?' Their answers haven't appeared in my 'questions I have answered' list. How are they able to use my name?

This has happened before - it's very easy for an imposter to make his/her username the same as yours as you have small Ls in your name - these look the same as a capital i.

LiIIibet/Lillibet - look idental, but aren't!

Unfortunately you have a name that has small L's or Big i's, these are targets for the imposters for the reasons explained by ratbag66.

How pathetic! It hadn't occured to me that someone would bother setting up an account using capital Is to be me. This is probably an unfathomable question but why? What enjoyment can be had by writing 'Is it safe?' and apologising for being offensive when no-one thinks I have been? It's not a phrase I like - but someone clearly needs to get a life.
Don't worry Lillabet (the real one) we knew it wasn't you immediately.  We've all been impostered once in a while, but it's horrible I agree.
They were quite offensive on a voting question and I reported it and it was deleted immediately.  I can't understand why they would want to do it.
How do we know it wasn't you? you could be the imposter creating a double bluff? and how do you know that you were the original? it could be that you have inadvertly copied someone elses name. i am not being nasty, just pointing out where this leads us. it is fully the editors responsibility to weed out these AB terrorists- Except that they tend to spend their time banning genuine postings with complete impunity- Not a million miles away from what Hitler tried to do.
yes, thats true. but whoever is the real imposter just get a life.
mr.piper some of the others copied and pasted Lillabet's name and it was proven to be capital i's not small l's - thus we knew.  Also the sentiments were different.

Hmmmm, well I may not be the first Lillabet ever of course... But when I registered I had looked round the site first and had I seen any evidence of another Lillabet I would have chosen another name. The other Lillabet seems to have popped up late on Friday and been a busy little imposter over the weekend with views on any number of issues.

On Friday I called someone on being rude to others and whilst I in no way would suspect the person I called of being the imposter I did wonder whether that might have drawn me to the imposters attention given that he /she then spent considerable time being rude and unpleasant in my name. Classy.

But, mr piper, the way you can tell which Lillabet was which, apart from the content of the messages, was that they posted at the weekends. I'm currently doing a dull and undemanding job whilst I wait for some clearances and background checks to be done before I take a really interesting job. This means I have a lot of time in the week and spend a fair proportion of it here. I actually don't post outside of work hours. I do know how slack that makes me but you'd be bored too at the minute if you were me! Plus I still get through more work than anyone else in the office!

My wife used my account to post an answer to ''where lovers meet''. I think she suspects something.

Lillabet - you now have proof of what Andy said.  We do know which postings are from an intelligent adult who has something to say.
