Tuning a TV into a Video Recorder

How do I tune my portable Goodmans TV (Model 1420R) into my video recorder. The TV does not have any scart sockets and the 3 buttons it has appear to only change the channel or volume. 1 toggles between channel & volume, the other 2 are up/down.

I'm assuming this is a video cassette recorder. Right?
You need to connect the TV aerial to your video recorder 's (RF in/antenna in) socket and then connect the Video recorder's (RF out/antenna out) socket to the aerial socket of your TV with a special co-ax cable (like the aerial cable)
Check that your TV is still working (receiving the channels you had before). The video recorder MIGHT need to be switched on for this to work or at least in standby.
The next thing depends on whether your TV has a video channel or not.
Try what I have said and get back to me about whether the TV has a video channel or not and I'll tell you what to do next.

Do exactly as vascop says, then put a video in the VCR switch it on to play & then tune a spare channel on your tv until you see the video.

Yes, what I was going to say next was:
if your TV has a special video channel then use that and play a video and you should see it on screen.
Otherwise do as Ron says and use a spare TV channel and tune it in while you are playing a video. You'll know when it's tuned in because you'll see the video on screen.

Thanks for the replies. The TV has channels numbered from 0 to 39. 1 to 4 are tuned to the 4 main channels. I have tried playing a video but there don't appear to be any buttons to tune the video in on a spare channel. The only buttons I can find are the ones I mention in the question. The remote is fairly basic and doesn't have any buttons particularly for tuning.

I found this on a web site. Give it a try and let me know if it works:
Goodmans TVs often require you to press and hold the MENU key down to access the TV Tuning menu. Once activated, the VOLUME +/-, PROGRAM +/- and STANDBY buttons are used.

Alternatively, a key marked with three dots inside a rectangle (sometimes located near the mute key) needs to be pressed to enter the "MAIN" menu and then pressed again to enter the "ADMIN" menu. Once activated, the VOLUME +/- are used to store and the PROGRAM +/ to toggle the option. The TV button is used to exit the menu.

There should be a button for Ext 1, 2 & 3. Flip thru the Ext to see which one has the video.

tambourine - the OP says that the set has no Av scart inputs, so there won't be EXT keys!
