Birthday present

I have been invited to a birthday party for a 1 year old girl. Personally I think it is stupid, the child is too young to be aware. Any thoughts on this and what to get as a present?

I would go, but don't take a present. No one will notice, especially the kid. I would also take my own drink, as there might not be any, kids an all.

Ruthann 58 what a good idea, will show my face for a reasonable amount of time and put a cheque in with her card. You are absolutely right about taking my mind of other depressing things, mum would have wanted me to go.
