I have an adorable 2 year old cat called Charlie. I know he would do well in a cat show cos he is ace!!! But the only problem is that he sometimes gets freaked out by loads of people surrounding him and he hates car journeys, which we would have to take to get there. And of course there will be loads of people there judging him and stuff. he would do well, I know that but if he gets scared it won't go down well with the judges and he will be stressed. I want to take him but I just don't want to put him through it if he won't like it!  any advice??????

I think you may have answered your own question.  Why put poor Charlie (my dog's name!) through lots of unnecessary stress just to prove he's the best?  You know he's the best so why the need for awards?  He doesn't need those - just lots of love!!
If Charlie gets that upset about being with crowds and car journeys, then let some other moggie win the cat show.  What about entering Charlie in a photo competition, then you would not have to worry about upsetting him to such a degree.  I'm sure he's a very handsome cat and is obviously very special to you, so who cares what other people think?

Cat shows and the such like are simply displays of human opinion. They mean nothing to the animal involved! You might feel proud, but all Charlie will know is that you - his beloved owner - are putting him in a situation in which there is noise, travelling, strangers poking and prodding him, etc.

Just give him love as he is. Maybe his attitude will change, but just remember that cat shows are for owners, not for the pets!

you know the answer, the cat won't like it so don't do it!!!!
I agree with everyone else.

hello as you know i take me cat Miffy into cat shows and it does not bother him at all ! He wins rossetes and cat treats so he loves it ! He just acts as though he is at home ! Some cats may not likeit but think how many times kids have to do things for there parents they dont want to do ! When i 1st took Miffy it was like touch and go ,i was not sure how he was going to react but he was fine ! So take him out and try him if you think it would be ok and if not dont ! But there is a cat show at Morley Leisure centre on Sunday (Miffy aint in it  but we can go anyway ) and then you can see what it would be like ,and that may help you decide if Charlie would likeit !

Ok see u at school tmoz

love from Christy
