knox had already posted this in Quizzes & Puzzles, where I have pointed out that 'et al' is NOT Latin for 'and all' , but short for 'et alii/aliae/alia', meaning 'and others'.

! asked knox "Do you mean as in 'Old Uncle Tom Cobley and all' or as in 'That's what I meant, and all'?"

As I said there, neither of these will go into Latin, and the latter isnt even English if you ask me!

I privately wondered, therefore, what answer the q could possibly have been expecting. Now I see it was in the Daily Record. Well what do you expect if you do Daily Record quizzes? I suppose if the question was wrong, the answers here must be right. No, that's faulty logic. I mean 'right for the Daily Record'.
ah Mallam, don't slag our Daily Record, we know its
not always right, so what, ever tried understanding
cockney slang!
Ah, tony. By 'wir Daily Record' you mean youre Scottish dont you? Ever tried being a Sassenach and trying to understand Glasgae slang?

Youve had a pretty good guess that Im one (tho partly Irish and living in the Scottish province of Ulster), and are inviting me to see Cockney from your point of view, arent you? But are you being entirely straight with me? Cockney is easy peasy even for you really, isnt it? And everyone knows Cockney backslang.
