Sorry - didn't quite know where to post this - My daughter bought me a necklace out of her holiday money when we were in Menorca, it is only a cheapy one with a black leather/cord and a dangly bit, but I like it and wear it a lot. The thing is it hasn't got a fastening it was just a knot that you could slide to make it bigger to go over your head and then make it smaller to tighten around the neck, however the knot has come undone and I would like to retie it, but I don't know what this sort of knot is called so I can't look up how to tie it - does anyone know what this type of knot is called?

In attempting to describe a word picture for you, I found my description for this simple knot went on for two paragraphs, so, rather,  check this site for a pictorial description:

Luck!

Sounds like a common or garden Reef knot - ask any passing boy scout to help.
