Do you know anyone that keeps pets that could use it for bedding?
Why can't it go in the bin then?
Add it to your compost bin. Shredded paper is great for making compost.

Thanks annie0000, did used to pass it to a friend for her mixture of pets but they've all since died and I just thought in this age of recycling and the growing promotion of shredding confidential waste there might be a collection point, seems a waste otherwise. Thanks for your help and so quickly.
Put it in your paper recycling bin. If they don't like it they can sort it out at the depot. At the end of the day however, even if it goes to landfill, it is biodegradable.

Come to think of it, every single material object came from the Earth originally.

Thanks Postdog council won't accept it in the recycling bin, guess it will have to go in the ordinary wheelie bin, just thought it was ideal for recycling. Great idea witchnanny, afraid we're not really gardeners but I could ask friends if they want it. Thanks folks.
Our local council suggest putting shredded paper inside a cereal box or similar before putting in recycle bin
Our council won't take it because they say it doesn't work with their paper baling process and messes it up. They say to just put it in General Waste, (which ends up as landfill, of all things!!).
