Can any of you lovely ladies (or fellas?!) recommend a foundation please?  (Fed up of wasting money). I'm er mature, but no wrinkles, fair & have normal to dry skin.  I want a natural dewy finish, I really don't like the powdery matte look. If it's any help I used Max Factor's Ultra Moist, Natural Beige for years & loved it. I did mail M.F. & asked which of the new products was the closest but they were no help!

Have you considered visiting a cosmetic counter like to ones you get in John Lewis. They will try out anything you fancy, and then you can decide what's good on you without wasting money. I did try this a couple of years ago and have since been using clinique.

I use Max Factor Colour Adapt.  It does give that dewy finish, and my skin is fair and normal to dry too, although I'm 30 (don't think that counts as 'mature' but I dunno!)

Thanks both!

Pilchard, I've a friend with the same problem & we have been talking about going for a consultation but we don't want to draw a crowd in the store! They might think they're watching 'Mission Impossible'.

Nicola you are very young (compared to me at 50 - sshhh!)  I was thinking of giving Colour Adapt a try, glad to know it's not powdery.

I'm in my 40's and find that Marks & Spencers just perfect foundation is , well, just about perfect!

spudqueen I've never tried any M & S cosmetics - will have a look thanks!

Hi noddy, bit of a change from birdies, isn't it?

I use Lancome Teint Idole - shade is 01(beige albatre)

or Estee Lauder Double Wear - shade 01 (Fresco)

Both these foundations are a natural beige, don't move all day, never need retouching, and best of all need no powder.

You will also have that  dewy look that you crave and make men fall at your feet. :-D

noddy, I should have added that both Lancome and Estee will give you little tester bottles to try at home - testing some on the back of your hand under fluorescent lighting is worse than useless.

Thanks Cetti, some more to add to the list.  Men falling at my feet eh?  mmm wouldn't mind some of that!

I know what you mean about patch tests on your hands/arms & I never remember which was which. I've got to find something before I start scaring the birds away!

noddy, I'm also 50, and your skin description matches mine quite well, except that I have a slight shine on the nose. I use Max Factor Colour Adapt. It feels really smooth and creamy.
