I moved into a new house a few months ago, and foolishly, I did not remove the plastic from the front door (its a timber effect pvc door) as we were still finishing some work. Now I cannot remove the plastic from the door its almost like it has dried in with the sun- I have tried scraping it off, but Im worried about scratching the door - Has anyone any suggestions?

The manufacturers instructions for these doors say that it's important that the protective film be removed immediately, and never left on in sunlight, or it will react with the pvc and become virtually impossible to remove.
Looks like a new door is the only answer, alas.
