Your daughter says to you 'Mummy, why didn't you come when we were crying last night?' And you decide just to check on her a bit more often when you abandon her and her brother and sister the next night?! How often was she checking them in the first place? And if your daughter tells you she was crying, you still don't feel like you should stay with her? I'm sorry, but how can you just leave your children so you can go out? Especially when you daughter has said that to you! Sorry for the rant. Daffi x

yes, I have, just now, been busy sorting out the Mccanns here!
I think the most likely explanation is that she was abducted. I don't have any evidence for this, but I think you have no evidence and less reasons to support any other theory.
If you had to bet on what happened, where would you place your money? That the parents were responsible?
Face facts - absolutely no evidence to support abduction.

Therefore last people to see her alive (as far as anyone knows) parents. Ergo: suspects.

If this was a missing wife, the husband would be no. 1 suspect.

Yep!
Gerry is pretty smug, yes. I hate his accent.

Ok suppose you have a 4 year old daughter, you're walking in the park with her, you turn away for 2 seconds, you turn back, she's gone!
There is 'no evidence to support abduction' (completely put common sense on hold for a moment and rule out the completely nonsense bizarre fictitious loony land OJ simpson pathetic made up areyoufkncrazy suggestion that *a stranger might have lifted your fkn daughter*, and the police arrive, and charge you with her disappearance and declare to the press that YOU are the SUSPECT in her disappearance since there is NO EVIDENCE to show that she was abducted and you were the last person to see her.
Do you wish to say anything in your defence? You child-disappearerer you?
Josie83......having read your post about the McCanns being forced to let someone take Madeleine!!!!!!!!......... you should seriously think about getting yourself some help.
There was probably plenty of evidence in the initial stages, but the Portugese police failed to protect the crime scene.
I did send a donation to the fund, and have no problem with them using ti for their mortgage because they were unable to work at the time. If any of you did donate and are not happy about it t then ask for your money back.
There is no evidence to support the theory that the McCanns killed her and disposed of her body either.

How the hell do any of you/us KNOW how we would react in a similar situation. I have no doubt that had Madeleine disappeared in this country they could have allowed themselves the "luxury" of collapsing with grief which is what some people expect, They would have beeen confident that the police here would do everything they possibly could to find Madeleine. It was pretty obvious right from the start that the Portugese police were not doing that.

meredith - that's not the same thing. We only have their words for what happened that night and when. Losing my daughter in a park, would presume there were other people to verify the fact that my daughter had been there, thus hopefuly more witnesses. Otherwise, I would also be under suspicion, if no one could prove I and my "missing" daughter had ever been there!
Where is there one piece however small of an abduction????
There is no evidence, in fact, of anything, except one missing child.
Why all the fuss then if she hasn't been abducted, it's not like she slept walked somewhere is it? The poor wee soul (if still alive) will be confused and frightened to what has happened to her life and family, she won't know what's going on. My heart really does go out to her, she's on my mind alot. I just wish something could be found out.
Well, I think she befell an accident -
